The overall styling played off of the look of the venue location in the Atrium at Saint Johns Resort. The candles allowed for a soft glow throughout the room, enhanced by the atrium styling of the ceiling

[field title=”Proposal Story”]While overlooking the vast wilderness of the Kruger National Park in South Africa, Andrew proposed to Josie on January 17th, 2023.
The picture above was taken right after the moment happened, with the sun setting over the Lebombo. This overlook is called “Green Apple Hill” – according to the Safari guides, this was the first time a marriage proposal has ever happened at this specific location.
They were on an African Safari vacation for 10 days. Andrew had planned this surprise with the Safari guides & workers beforehand, focusing on the best spot to watch the sunset. They were joined by members of their family, who also had a hand in making sure this all played out. A wild hyena even came to check out the camp right after the proposal happened! A congratulations from one of Africa’s most meticulous species…
The proposal happened on the third day of the trip, leaving the rest of the time to relax and enjoy. South Africa will remain a special place in their hearts, which is why you will see similar colors and themes through the wedding process. Amongst the beauty of the African Safari was a celebration they will never forget.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The bride and groom, worked hand in hand with the on site wedding sales manager, Linda Johnson to create the ideal wedding menu for their guests. After cocktail hour, the guests were treated to a five course meal with summer salads, classic penne as a starter, sobert intermezzo, into the main entree service. The dessert table was filled all night with the wedding cake designed by Erin owner of Bella e Dolce, and Saint Johns resort famous “Pastry Lovers Extravaganza”.
A classic Green Apple Martini was the signature drink of the evening, as Josie and Andrew were engaged at Greenapple Hill in South Africa[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral and decor was a custom look from Jen House Design in Plymouth MI. The florist created focal moments through out the venue with greenery installed to the center point Gazebo in the reception room, with a long captain style table underneath the gazebo. The captains table was the highlight of the room, with a lush floral runner and endless candles.
All signage was a collaboration between Josie and her talented paper goods designer, Enza owner of Sincerely, Enza[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The Wedding cake was a wedding item that Andrew was passionate about, as he wanted to have a point of interest in the room that played into their engagement story. Erin of Bella E Dolce created a custom multi tier designed cake with artistic detailing of an ‘African Safari'[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Andrew is the son of the former CEO of Ford, Joseph Hinrichs and current president of CSX Transportation[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Josie first wanted to opt for a small, intimate wedding however Andrew wanted to bring all of his friends and families together for an amazing party. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Post dinner, the dance floor was filled the entire night with endless love, laughter and dancing filling the atrium until the wee hours of the morning[/field]
